Acupuncture
Acupuncture The Docks is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that is used
to treat a variety of ailments and symptoms, notably pain. An acupuncturist
places thin steel needles into the patient's skin at several
"acupoints." The needles regulate the body's energy, or qi, and also
stimulate the body to release organic substances to treat the symptom or
disease.
Acupuncture comes in a variety of forms.
The sole focus of acupuncturists who adhere to more
traditional/antiquated Chinese beliefs is controlling the body's qi (pronounced
"chee") or energy flow. Some practitioners use Western medicine,
stimulating the body's systems using needles. Many acupuncturists mix the two
techniques.
Myofascial pain can also be treated with Ear
Acupuncture The Docks. Muscles and their
connective tissue are involved in this widespread disorder. Trigger points,
which are tight, painful knots, frequently originate in stressed, strained, or
wounded muscles. One muscle's trigger point may cause discomfort in another
body part (referred pain).
Trigger point therapy is a technique acupuncturists
employ to reduce myofascial pain. To relieve the discomfort, they stimulate
specific bodily points.
How does acupuncture work?
The energy that runs through the body is called qi in
Asian medicine. Chinese medicine practitioners hold that interruptions of qi
result in energy imbalances in the body, which cause disease.
Various acupuncture techniques used needles to prick
acupuncture points (acupoints) on various body parts to restore qi equilibrium.
There are hundreds of acupoints on the body's 14 main meridians, also referred
to as energy routes.
The needles prompt the body's natural defense
mechanisms to Respond to an ailment or symptom.
